
While the effects of the 2021 global pandemic continued, we partnered with VERUS to hold the Istanbul Coffee Summit, bringing professionals and enthusiasts from Turkey's coffee industry together digitally.
Featuring 62 local and international speakers and 72 live broadcasts. Our logo was designed by Brandeer London, and we would like to share the story behind our logo in their own words;
For the Istanbul Coffee Summit, we created a special logo design that intertwines the coffee bean, symbolizing the city's centuries old coffee/coffeehouse/roastery culture with Istanbul's symbol, the tulip. This unique logo design also evokes the image of a coffee presentation. Two tulip petals hold the coffee bean, and this time, Istanbul is serving coffee to the whole world. It presents our coffee richness as a value embraced by all of Istanbul.
I hope that our logo, which we designed with great pleasure, will provide strong visual support for Istanbul, our beloved city that has been home to coffee lovers for centuries, to reach the pinnacle of coffee culture worldwide. Burak Işık Brandeer Creative Studio London / Creative Director
Istanbul Coffee Summit;
The program took place across 5 halls, sometimes simultaneously, the main hall, the Turkish coffee hall, the SCA hall, the specialty coffee hall and the “If I had a coffee shop?” hall, where we were broadcasting live.
We broadcasted live from Guatemala, Italy (2), the USA (2), Greece, Cyprus and South Africa.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association, represented by Ms. Merve Gürsel, for their tremendous support to our Turkish Coffee Salon.

From architects to lawyers, designers to roasters, coffee investors to industrialists, white-collar senior management representatives to brand managers, journalists to financiers, champions to writers, magazine publishers to gastronomes, academics to brand and communication experts, baristas to advertisers, the 100-Year-Old Brands Association, to our country's long-established family coffee shops, cooperatives, and global machine manufacturers—everyone joined in and empowered us.
We concluded the event with Mr. Okan Bayülgen, with sponsorship from Arçelik.
The closing speech was delivered by Mr. Murat Kolbaşı, Chairman of the Board of Arzum.
We screened the HEROES film together with SCA Turkey.
All speeches were made available to everyone on YouTube three weeks after the summit.
We achieved long-term viewership rates with 3,500 accredited attendees at our ICS live event held during weekdays and business hours.
